ABOUT US
Darcy Poppey, a certified paralegal and mediator, has over 20 years in dispute resolution and has conducted numerous mediations to allow parties to amicably resolve their matrimonial and family court matters over the years.
After attending New Lebanon High School and SUNY Empire College, Darcy began working law firms in 1998 and started assisting with mediations for separations and family court matters. After finding this part of the legal world was of interest to her, Darcy went on to obtain her Paralegal Certificate in 2003 and became a member of the Academy of Professional Family Mediators. A former Town Justice for the town of New Lebanon, Darcy was a mediator for multiple small claims and eviction litigants.
In 2004, Darcy had opened her own paralegal sub-contracting business and had found most of her clients were private citizens seeking assistance to obtain an amicable divorce or separation that would be affordable. In 2014, Darcy formally opened her mediation practice.
Darcy completes continuing education every year and has taken multiple courses regarding Family Mediation, Conflict Resolution, Ethics, Financial Planning, Agreement writing and new legislation seminars.
Darcy also volunteers her time for Domestic Violence Awareness, Suicide Prevention and Substance Abuse Awareness programs and activities
